At The Games Yard, our mission is simple — to let kids be kids.
The Games Yard is a new kind of after-school club where we believe play has purpose. We want to encourage children to have fun whilst helping them build their future in a friendly, caring and joyful setting.
Our Story
The Games Yard was born from a simple belief: that the joy of childhood is found through play, connection, and discovery. In a world where screens have an ever increasing influence and dominance in young children’s lives, we wanted to create a space where children could unplug, play freely, and reconnect — with themselves, their friends, and the world around them.
Our club blends fun and freedom with structure and purpose. Every session is designed around our “Purposeful Play” ethos, ensuring that every game, challenge, or creative project contributes to each child’s emotional, social, and physical wellbeing.

We’re a community-driven, values-led club that puts children at the heart of everything we do — championing kindness, consideration and respect whilst encouraging teamwork, developing imagination, resilience and confidence, in a safe, supportive setting.
From active outdoor and indoor sports and games to hands-on creative projects, The Games Yard encourages children to try new things, take small risks, and celebrate effort as much as achievement. We want to encourage their curiosity, helping them learn and embrace challenge, whilst exploring their potential and crucially, having a lot of fun along the way.
